Punctuation is one of my favorite things when it comes to working with sentences. It’s an easy concept to learn. Is it a question? Are they shouting? Are they just talking? Instead of giving students a plain white worksheet and writing symbols, why not try this interactive powerpoint.

What is this Punctuation game?

This digital activity can assess students understanding of punctuation. Students are given a sentence and they must determine the ending punctuation. They can choose between a period, exclamation point, or question mark.

How you play this Punctuaction game anyway?

This is great for a whole class review as there are 20 questions and is multiple choice. This is a fantastic center activity as students can take turns answering questions and play in smaller teams.

There’s even a scoreboard to help keep track of the score. This is a teacher vs student game. Students will answer all the questions. If students get it right, they win the points, but if students get it wrong, the teacher gets the points. I usually do this for a reward, which makes them work even harder. Also, the students want to beat you!

What device can I use this vowel game on?

This game can be played on Smartboards, computers, or tablets. Makes it a simple game for the whole class, in small groups, or for individuals. Perfect for Zoom Meetings during distance learning. One can even print them out and use them as task cards. You can make printable digital task cards on my blog post: Make Printable Task cards from ANY powerpoint game.

You can get this game here: Punctuation Teacher Student Game. Mac and PC versions are included! It even works on ipads and tablets, making it perfect for 1:1 classrooms.
